While we actively & absolutely encourage everyone to make positive healthy lifestyle changes, it’s very important to consult your GP / Doctor before making any changes to your lifestyle. December Resolutions!
Now we're into December, there's a great opportunity to get into a good, regular health routine before the Christmas holidays.
Between now & Christmas, aim to build up your health routine slowly (even a little goes a long way), then you'll get a nice little health boost before Christmas comes along & it'll help you to keep your motivation rolling forwards as we head into 2024 & onwards!
At My Movement Medicine, we want to encourage positive, long term health outcomes for everyone, so here's some tips to get you started & keep your routine going:
Approach it gradually - dont aim to do it all straight away as it may not be sustainable and unrealistic goals can become demotivating. Start small because even doing a small amount each day / each week can have very positive effects both physically & psychologically
Aim for long term, gradual & informed lifestyle changes instead of smaller, short term health goals.
All humans need time to adapt to change and by making massive sudden changes to your lifestyle / routine, you may not giving yourself the time to adapt to these changes which unfortunately may also lead to a negative impact on the outcomes.
Do your best to make the changes sustainable, so if you have a big, long end goal, keep your momentum positive by starting small, and build up by keeping your goals easy & short term
If there's a number of goals relevant to your targets, start with the easy parts. Don't make life difficult for yourself & begin with the tough parts
Start your new years resolutions in December & you'll be laughing by the time 2024 comes along!
