Self Care

⚖️ Finding a good balance between your health, work, and your daily life is super important for maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle, and its crucial to realise that this balance will vary for every person.

With time being so limited and with so many pressures and demands being placed on us, it can be difficult to set time aside which is specifically for exercise & self-care and time for your self care & health can be placed on the back burner and lead to more unhealthy lifestyle patterns which can cause possible health issues further down the line.

As we all have different routines and activities we enjoy, unfortunately, there's no absolutely correct answer. It's all about planning, experimenting and sometimes being flexible to find the right weekly routine which works with you and those close to you.

On the flip side, many people don't realise that having a regular routine that fully focusses on health and never leaves any time for yourself or those close to you can also have a negative impact on your mental health and relationships.

So, some top tips to help you along the way:

👨‍👩‍👧 Bring your family members or friends into your health routine - you can all do a fun, healthy activity that can positively benefit everyone involved while spenging some good, quality time together

🕺💃 Group activities or classes can help with finding groups of people who have the same interests & goals as you. This can massively help boost your motivation and consistency - take a look at our online / local services in London if you’re interested -> book here

🗓Be flexible, but not too flexible - consistency is key to health. Sometimes life will get in the way but dont let it take control. Keep motivated and if you need to, swap your activity to another day / time

🤦‍♂️Dont get discouraged if you have a bad day - as they say its not the falling, its getting back up thats important. If you fail, use it to motivate you to get back up and back into your routine!

🏋️‍♀️Some exercise is better than others, finding efficient ways to get the body moving and healthy will mean you can have more time for everyday life. Why do 3 hours when you can do 1?

⏰Setting alarms can help you to put time aside for activities that might be difficult to get motivated for. Then you have a specific time frame to participate in your self care activities

Some goals for you:

⏰️Goal 1: Set an alarm and allocate some time for yourself

🛌Goal 2: Get to sleep on time and aim for 8 hours of good quality sleep

📒Goal 3: Practice self-awareness by writing an activity or food diary - find our activity diary here

👩‍⚕️Goal 4: Find some professional support if you need it

💪Goal 5: Book a local exercise session to get moving

So, at the end of the day, how you spend your time is up to you, but its important to find a good balance that works for you and to not compare your routine to anyone except yourself in the process. If you’re in a good & healthy place with your routine & lifestyle then perfect, keep it going. If not, you can use the top tips above, and set small, specific goals for yourself to do a little more each day / week and then, with a little bit of consistency & discipline, you’ll find that you can find a good, balanced routine and turn your health around in no time at all!
